‘The View’s’ accent-mocking attack on FLOTUS was met with fire from Melania’s spokeswoman

Melania Trump’s spokeswoman Stephanie Grisham slammed ABC’s “The View” for the “disrespectful” and “hypocritical” attack of the first lady.

Grisham responded Friday to a tweet by Raw Story touting the segment in which the show’s co-hosts blasted Melania Trump for her comments about the anonymous New York Times op-ed written by a senior administration official.

“If by ‘destroy’ you mean being disrespectful & hypocritical while mocking someone’s accent, then the ‘ladies’ of @TheView succeeded,” the first lady’s spokeswoman tweeted.

Sunny Hostin took aim at the first lady’s statement condemning the “coward” who wrote the op-ed and is “sabotaging” the country. Co-host Whoopi Goldberg gave her a warning not to impersonate the first lady with an accent as she began.

Hostin drew attention to Trump’s remarks that “words are important” and “accusations can lead to severe consequences,” while reading her statement sarcastically.

“I recall that Melania was also a birther,” Hostin said, referring to claims about former President Barack Obama not being born in the U.S. “Weren’t those words very important and accusations very important?”

Joy Behar jumped on the bashing train next.

“How about, ‘I really don’t care, do you?’ How about those words?” she asked, referring to the  jacket Trump wore that said “I really don’t care, do you?” when on a trip to visit immigrant children in Texas.

“Everybody in the White House — including the first lady — have issued denials that they wrote the anonymous op-ed about working against you-know-who,” co-host Whoopi Goldberg quipped at the beginning of the segment, as she broke into laughter along with the audience.

The hypocritical women of “The View” proved again in attacking First Lady Melania Trump how lacking in self-awareness they really are.
