‘How did I ever get involved?’ Latest Mueller witness seen walking into interrogation raises eyebrows, including his own

In the Robert Mueller investigation’s latest desperate attempt to find proof of anything, an associate of President Trump’s longtime ally, Roger Stone, was called in to testify.

This seemed as surprising to the witness himself as it did to those following the witch-hunt, er – investigation.

Comedian and radio talk show host Randy Credico testified Friday before a federal grand jury in Mueller’s probe after being subpoenaed to appear, ABC News reported.

“I’m looking forward for it to be over,” he said as he arrived, wondering how things got to this point.

“How did I ever the hell get involved in this mess?” he asked. “A nice guy like me. What’s a nice guy like me doing in a place like this?”

According to ABC News:

Credico has surfaced as a possible link between Stone and Assange. Stone told Congress in September 2017 that he asked Credico to act as an intermediary between him and WikiLeaks publisher Julian Assange.

Stone, who has taken credit for persuading President Trump to get into politics, served as an adviser to Trump’s presidential campaign but left amid controversy in 2015. Stone continued to advise Trump informally after he left the campaign. He has been under scrutiny, in part, because of statements he made in August 2016 that hinted he may have known in advance about WikiLeaks’ plan to release damaging information on Clinton. He says he didn’t.

The latest associate of Stone’s to be called to testify in Mueller’s probe, Credico arrived with his lawyer Martin Stolar and his therapy dog, Bianca.

“We’ll see if they want to talk to us again.” Stolar told ABC News when they emerged from the courtroom after Credico’s testimony. “But as far as we’re concerned, today, they’re finished with the testimony, and that should end it.”

Mueller’s team has contacted at least 10 people associated with Stone, a former Trump campaign advisor, according to ABC News. The latest summons of a comedian to unveil some alleged collusion after a more than one year investigation seems like the special counsel may be scraping the bottom of the barrel.
