White House reporter April Ryan not only feels the need to have a personal bodyguard, she thinks Sarah Sanders should foot the bill.
The CNN contributor accused the White House press secretary of “stirring” up death threats against her and feels she shouldn’t have to personally pay someone for protection.
“Oh, I get approached a lot, when I’m walking from my car, when I’m walking to my car, when I eat. Anywhere I go. I mean, they have put a target on my head, and I don’t know who’s who sometimes,” Ryan told the Hollywood Reporter on Tuesday.
“I’ve had some people wait for me outside the White House,” the Washington, D.C., bureau chief for American Urban Radio Networks said. “There is a concern now. I mean, I’ve had death threats, I’ve had craziness, so I have a real concern.”
Ryan, who is promoting her new book, “Under Fire: Reporting From the Front Lines of the Trump White House,” has had numerous contentious clashes with Sanders during White House briefings, infamously questioning the authenticity of Sanders’ pie-making skills.
“Do I have a bodyguard? Yes, I do. Am I paying for it? Yes, I am. And, I think [Sanders] should have to pay for it, especially if she’s stirring it up with her boss,” Ryan told The Hollywood Reporter.
Echoing the whining by her mainstream media colleagues, notably CNN’s chief White House correspondent Jim Acosta, Ryan complained that she has “been under attack” as she has covered the Trump administration.
“I did not sign up for this. I was just doing a job,” she said.
“What’s happening is unprecedented. … I’ve been under attack. And lied on. Treated terribly. And if I don’t tell the story, you won’t get it. So, I’m putting it out there, because people see one side of it,” she added.
Ryan dramatically claims she is on what she called “The White House blacklist,” which apparently also includes Acosta.
“The blacklist. The White House blacklist … Me, Jim Acosta. We’re on the blacklist. [CNN White House correspondent] Kaitlan Collins. People they don’t like,” she said, claiming the administration was “still very angry” over her asking whether Trump is a racist.
“They’re still very angry at me for asking the question, ‘Mr. President, are you a racist?’ And that’s why I’m on a list,” Ryan said.
She has been called out by critics as well as Sanders for grandstanding, misconstruing words and playing the victim. She earned another scorching earlier this year when she asked if Trump was considering stepping down amid the Robert Mueller investigation and misquoted Sanders’ words to suggest the press secretary wanted a physical fight with her.
The 21-year veteran of the White House press corps also tweeted a conspiracy article a few months ago alleging that the Trump administration was involved in child sex-trafficking.
Twitter users blasted Ryan for her bodyguard remarks, calling out the hypocrisy and the victim mentality of the left.
April can blame her own hateful filthy threats and words against the Trump Administration and our President for any death threats she might get.

Very simple @AprilDRyan ask smart and intelligent questions, report the news (not your opinions) and don’t be so confrontational and guess what? U won’t need “protection”.

I have seen Trump supporters attacked. I have seen GOP congressman shot. I haven’t seen any liberals attacked.

Once again a liberal who takes zero responsibility for her own actions which has caused her issues. Victim mentality . Always someone else’s fault

The fact that it has taken this long for a liberal reporter to get any significant number of death threats is a testament to just how easy they’ve had it, and how they cannot handle a fraction of what @benshapiro @seanhannity @rushlimbaugh and many others have had to for years

Can you eat at Mexican restaurants, @AprilDRyan?
— Erik Gaston (@ErikGaston6) August 21, 2018
LOL! April is an idiot thinking other people should pay for the body guard she hired.
This is the ultimate “I am a Victim” move. Nobody is trying to do anything to that old lady.
— Jack Battier (@OneEyeBlackJack) August 22, 2018
If that is the case then @AprilDRyan needs to pay for @PressSec Secret Service protection. First press secretary in US history to need that.

Has April been hounded at restaurants like Trump Admin by crazy libs, shot like Republican house members by crazy libs, and physically assaulted like Republic senators by crazy libs?
Projection: It’s the MSM that is stirring up violence and division
