President Donald Trump’s lawyer Rudy Giuliani dropped a bombshell of sorts during an appearance Monday on Fox News’ “Hannity,” suggesting that former CIA Director John Brennan is behind the Russian collusion probe headed up by Robert Mueller.
Giuliani was discussing the firing of FBI official Peter Strzok, which occurred earlier in the day, when he dismissed the disgraced agent as a “puppet,” along with Mueller, telling host Sean Hannity that Brennan was the guy “running” the investigation.
When asked how Hillary Clinton avoided being charged for her actions involving the use of a private email server, Giuliani said it was because the fix was in.
“She got off because of that fixed investigation,” he explained to Hannity. “A totally phony fixed investigation run by Peter Strzok who then turns around, the dossier is obtained on the day that they dropped the case against Trump — against Hillary. So that case gets dropped and they had to even up the score.”
And that’s when Giuliani came out of left field with the assertion that Brennan was behind all of this.
“The reality is I’m going to tell you,” he said. “We don’t have the time to go into it, we can do it later, I’m going to tell you who was the quarterback for all of this.
“It isn’t just Strzok — Strzok is a bit of a puppet,” Guiliani continued. “Then there’s Mueller, he’s a puppet. The people working for him, some of them are.”
“I have a funny feeling you are about to drop a bomb on me,” Hannity interjected.
“Well the guy running it is [John] Brennan and he should be in front of a grand jury. Brennan took an affidavit – a dossier, unless he’s the biggest idiot intelligence agent that ever existed, although he never did much intelligence work, it’s false,” Giuliani declared. “You could look at it and laugh.”
Keep in mind that Brennan, an Obama appointee, resigned as director of the CIA the same day Trump was sworn in, and has been vociferously critical of the president in his new gig as a MSNBC/NBC contributor.
One example of how unhinged Brennan is in his hatred of Trump was seen after the Helsinki press conference the president held with Russian President Vladimir Putin, with Brennan tweeting that Trump’s performance “was nothing short of treasonous,” and even suggested that it “exceeds the threshold of ‘high crimes & misdemeanors.'”
