A grandmother in Texas is sorry that she had to pull the trigger but said she repeatedly warned a man exposing himself in her yard before she shot him.
Jean Wilson was protecting her family from a 38-year-old man who allegedly rode up to her house on a bike on Tuesday afternoon and began masturbating in front of her.
“Some guy pulled off his pants and pulled his pants open, playing with his thing, and he ran up and I told him to get away from my door, or I will shoot him,” the 68-year-old Houston grandmother told KTRK-TV.
Wilson wasn’t kidding.
“He kept coming and kept coming, reached for my door after it was locked, and so I shot through the door,” she said.
Clarence Johnson was struck in the chest and had to have surgery, but is expected to recover, according to KTRK. The suspect, who was out on bond for running around naked last week, is no stranger to the police.
Johnson has reportedly been in and out of jail nine times over the last two decades, usually on drug possession charges, according to KTRK.
“He could have hurt my kids,” the grandmother, whose front door sports a sign reading “Save the drama for your mama,” she said. “That’s all I got.”
Wilson cares for an 11-year-old grandson and an 11-year-old great-granddaughter who were both inside at the time of the incident.
“I don’t bother nobody, I don’t get in nobody’s business,” she said. “It’s just me and him, and like I keep saying, I warned him.”
