‘Anne Frank’ Holocaust play reimagined with family hiding out from ICE agents dubbed as ‘dangerous propaganda’

Despite protestations from Holocaust survivors who take umbrage to being compared to illegal immigrants, the left continues to compare violators of America’s federal immigration laws to the millions of Jews who were starved, tortured and murdered by the Nazis.

Led by playwright Wendy Kesselman, director Stan Zimmerman and producer Anne Kathryn Parma, one group of left-wingers have gone so far as to reimagine “The Diary Of Anne Frank” as a tale about illegal immigrants hiding out from Immigration and Customs Enforcement agents in Los Angeles.

Frank was a real-life Holocaust victim who kept a diary as she hid for two years from then-German dictator Adolf Hitler’s Nazi soldiers during the 1940s. Years after her death at a concentration camp in 1945 from typhus epidemic, her diary was published, read by millions and eventually transformed into a screen play that has now been remade for political purposes.

In a statement to Fox News, Parma defended the play on the basis that it’s based on a true story: “This will be a word-for-word presentation of the 1997 Broadway script. We are, however, re-imagining the setting with LatinX families reading the play from their Safe House. This new staging was inspired by the true story of a Jewish woman in Los Angeles,” she said.

“Zimmerman’s unique take on the staging was inspired by the true story of a Jewish woman in Los Angeles who created a ‘Safe House’ for a Latina mother and her two daughters after her husband was deported by ICE,” the news purveyor Broadway World reported. “The characters in the attic will be played by a LatinX cast.”

But as noted by many social media users, this excuse simply doesn’t fly. Why? Because whereas ICE’s only goal is to apprehend illegal immigrants who violate America’s federal laws and then deport them to their home countries, the goal of the Nazis had been to apprehend the Jews and then murder them:

Holocaust survivor David Tuck would likely agree with these social media users’ assessment of the play. As someone who survived a Nazi concentration camp decades ago, he finds the left’s false equivalency between Holocaust survivors and illegal immigrants quite distasteful.

“They know nothing of the Holocaust,” he said during an emotional interview with The Daily Caller earlier this summer. “Grow up. You can’t compare. Every time I hear it, it’s sickening. This is not the Holocaust.”

“In our town we only had but 18 Jewish families,” he continued. “First the Nazis gave us to wear yellow armbands on the left arm. Then they gave us a Star of David, one on the front and one on the back. If you walked on the street on the same sidewalk that the SS man walked, if you didn’t step down they would kill you.”

“If I had any piece of bread at night with me, if somebody knew about it they would steal it from me. Everybody was for themselves. Survival. There were times at night I used to go to sleep, I would say ‘Please G-d, let me see the light the next day. Many times.”

Listen:

The fact that leftists continue to compare illegal immigrants — who are criminals by default — with Holocaust survivors like David Tuck is beyond the pale.
