Watching Andrea Mitchell celebrate 40 years at NBC reminds America why Trump is POTUS

Andrea Mitchell smugly enjoyed a self-congratulatory moment as MSNBC celebrated her 40-year anniversary at the network with a video montage.

One after another, congratulatory praises were shared in the video compilation that featured a who’s-who of Mitchell’s fans.

Former Bush and Obama officials, journalists and other establishment figures gushed over the NBC News chief foreign affairs correspondent.

She “always speaks truth to power,” former Vice President Joe Biden said in one clip, adding that she is “completely straight down the line.”

“I have so appreciated listening to you and I have loved being on your program but, most of all, I have loved our friendship,” fawned Madeline Albright, former Secretary of State.

“I can remember … what a wonderful reporter you were — a hell of a reporter, in fact,” James Baker, former chief of staff for Ronald Reagan, added.

“Today” show co-host Hoda Kotb declared Mitchell was an “inspiration” not only to her colleagues at NBC but to “every single journalist who shares in your tireless pursuit of the truth.”

The cringeworthy accolades were almost topped by a literal round of applause from the “Morning Joe” cast.

Other messages came in via social media.

Mitchell’s self-satisfied acceptance of all the attention earned her plenty of mockery on Twitter.
