A former Hollywood child star revealed that there are actually more conservatives in Tinseltown than expected but they keep a low profile.
Zachery Ty Bryan admitted it’s been fun to watch as liberal Hollywood celebrities have had to cope with the election of President Trump, and not done it very well.
The actor played the son of Tim “The Toolman” Taylor along side one of the most beloved Hollywood conservatives, Tim Allen, in the hit 1990s sitcom “Home Improvement.”
Hollywood is in an “echo chamber” similar to the Washington establishment, Bryan, said Saturday on “Fox & Friends.” Trump caught Hollywood off guard, Bryan added, as they had fully expected Hillary Clinton to succeed former President Barack Obama in the White House.
“It’s been fun to watch,” Bryan admitted.
The 36-year-old actor and producer espouses very different political views from many of his colleagues, having grown up outside of the bubble of most of the Hollywood elite. Bryan explained he comes from a family originally from southeastern Colorado where they grew wheat and corn.
“Surprisingly, there’s a lot more conservatives in Hollywood than you would expect,” he said. “They don’t necessarily talk about it. They stay more anonymous.”
He compared the Hollywood political divide to various cliques in high school.
“It reminds me kind of like high school, you know,” Bryan said. “You’ve got the cool clique: they think everybody should be like them. And the party of tolerance and acceptance is only accepting if you agree with them.”
But the actor believes there is a “new wave,” and “the pendulum is swinging the other way, and I’m proud to be a part of it.”
Bryan weighed in on Kathy Griffin’s recent attack of actor and comedian Kevin Hart for not incorporating anti-Trump jokes into his routine.

“I don’t know his political beliefs but I appreciate that he doesn’t throw it in our faces,” Brayn told “Fox & Friends” co-host Pete Hegseth, adding that he hates even “legitimizing” Griffin whose infamous portrait of her holding a replica bloodied Trump head “really irks” him.
“It’s kind of funny to think that you should have apolitical stance just because of the color of your skin,” he said.
