‘Social change’ event rescinds Monica Lewinsky’s invite in favor of Bill Clinton. Yeah, she’s ticked

So much for the left’s #MeToo movement to draw attention to sexual harassment.

Monica Lewinsky was ticked after learning Town & Country magazine rescinded its invitation for her to attend an annual philanthropic summit on Wednesday, taking to social media to express her dissatisfaction.

The reason Lewinsky was dis-invited? Because former beau, President Bill Clinton, was attending, according to Huffington Post.

Lewinsky tweeted: “dear world: please don’t invite me to an event (esp one about social change) and –then after i’ve accepted– uninvite me because bill clinton then decided to attend/was invited. it’s 2018. emily post would def not approve. Me.”

The fact that the only word capitalized in the post was “Me” not coming by accident.

Emily Post, who is referenced, was an American author well known for writing about etiquette.

Somewhat ironic, Slick Willy was on hand to introduce Emma Gonzalez, the liberal student who survived the shooting in Parkland, Florida, who now advocates for gun control.

As for Lewinsky no longer being invited, Clinton fell back on what the meaning of the word “is” is.

Clinton press secretary Angel Ureña said the former president didn’t know anything about the controversy involving Lewinsly.

“President Clinton was invited to address the Town & Country Philanthropy Summit. He gladly accepted. Neither he nor his staff knew anything about the invitation or it being rescinded,” Ureña tweeted.

Adding insult to injury, Town & Country appeared to try to make up for their brush off by offering Lewinsky an article in their magazine, which didn’t go over too well either.

“p.s. …and definitely, please don’t try to ameliorate the situation by insulting me with an offer of an article in your mag,” Lewinsky tweeted.

The episode certainly made for some interesting reactions on social media, drawing responses from a wide selection of personalities, known and unknown.
