Fox News Channel’s Jeanine Pirro is calling for the end of Special Counsel Robert Mueller’s Russian collusion investigation following the scathing repudiation of the case against former Trump campaign manager Paul Manafort by a federal judge.
Judge T. S. Ellis III said Friday that Mueller may have overstepped his authority in the pursuit of charges against Manafort, hoping to “tighten the screws” on him so he will give up the goods on his former boss, leading to President Trump’s “prosecution or impeachment.” Or, as Pirro described Mueller’s mission, “to secure the scalp of a sitting president.”
“Enter Judge Ellis, a take no prisoner judge who has seen it all” Pirro said, after she laid out the case up to Friday. “He tells [Deputy Attorney General Rod] Rosenstein’s henchmen, do you even have the power to indict Manafort?”
“Aren’t you overstepping your authority to investigate Russia collusion when you indict Manafort for actions 11 years prior to the election?” she continued. “What does 2005 have to do with the 2016 elections or the firing of James Comey?”
Judge Jeanine recounts the “arrogance” Team Mueller displayed in open court, effectively telling the federal judge they have additional powers, but cannot disclose these powers because of an ongoing investigation and because it will affect national security.
“The judge suggests Mueller’s people are lying about the investigation and seeking the unfettered power to unseat our president,” Pirro explained. “Using Manafort to sing against Donald Trump.”
She said Ellis demanded to see the Rosenstein secret memo, unredacted.
“The one that House Republicans thought for months — sought for months saying that information is that within the scope of that investigation,” Pirro said. “We don’t want anyone with unfettered powers, said the judge.”
The former prosecutor said the judge effectively summed up that Team Mueller is not being honest about the real purpose of their investigation.
“By saying their authority is not judicially enforceable,” Pirro concluded, “the Mueller team is basically telling a United States federal judge that their authority cannot be challenged through the courts.”
“It’s time to end the Mueller-Comey-Rosenstein cabal once and for all.”
