Fox News host Judge Jeanine Pirro excoriated Republicans who handed President Trump a $1.3 trillion omnibus bill to sign shortly after leaving town for a two-week spring break.
“The omnibus bill the Republicans gave President Trump is a total betrayal of him and the people who elected him,” Pirro said. “It’s as if they left him without arms to swim in a sea of sharks, risking our health and safety.”
Many Republicans, and most of Trump’s base, were furious that the bloated omnibus bill Trump signed provided hardly any funding for the border wall but fully funded sanctuary cities and gave $500 million to abortion provider Planned Parenthood.
Trump supporters were enraged by the capitulation, but stalwarts like Judge Jeanine laid much of the blame on establishment Republicans like Speaker of the House Paul Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell, whom she accused of being wimps while negotiating the omnibus bill with Democrats Chuck Schumer and Nancy Pelosi.
Keep in mind that Ryan and McConnell were never fans of the border wall or defunding sanctuary cities. Pirro said their lame, passive-aggressive negotiating resulted in a liberal, pork-filled omnibus bill that Democrats are now gloating over, as evidenced by this gleeful tweet from Chuck Schumer’s aide:
I, for one, am tired of all the winning.

“I told you a long time ago that the Establishment was against Trump,” Pirro recounted. “Remember how panicked when it looked like he would actually win nomination.” She continued:
This betrayal should be no surprise. Ryan and McConnell never cared about [Trump] succeeding. Two months after he was elected, Ryan failed to deliver votes on the health care bill — the one that he had seven years to work on.
This is not on President Trump. This is on the leadership of the Republican Party. The very people this president should be able to count on. In truth, the president is surrounded by incompetent, inept warriors. This is total betrayal by the Senate and Republican leadership. The president and the people who voted for him have been betrayed by speaker Paul Ryan and leader Mitch McConnell.”
Judge Jeanine echoed the sentiments of Fox Business anchor Lou Dobbs, who slammed “lazy, pious” Establishment Republicans like Ryan and McConnell for not protecting the president as Trump-haters like Robert Mueller try to undermine his presidency.
“There is a mission … to frame the president, and it is time to end it,” Dobbs said. “This is an ignorance within the Republican Party that has to be confronted.”
