Nancy Pelosi’s flip-flop on Rex Tillerson may be adding fuel to speculation that the 77-year-old Democrat finally needs to retire.
The House Minority Leader once accused ousted Secretary of State Tillerson of being “friendly” with Russia but after his firing by President Donald Trump on Tuesday, Pelosi is singing a different tune.
“Secretary Tillerson’s firing sets a profoundly disturbing precedent in which standing up for our allies against Russian aggression is grounds for a humiliating dismissal,” the California Democrat said Tuesday.
But back when Tillerson was first nominated in 2016, Pelosi called him “an oil executive friendly to Vladimir Putin,” and declared that his nomination “sends a disturbing signal about President-elect Trump’s priorities.”
The secretary of state “should champion American values, American security and American interests,”Pelosi stated at the time. “Fawning over Putin is poor preparation for being the top diplomat of the United States of America.”

Tillerson’s job security had been under speculation for months, with the oil magnate openly disagreeing with Trump on several occasions, most recently on North Korea. Fox News host Laura Ingraham questioned why it took the president so long to show Tillerson the doors, especially since the diplomat once reportedly called Trump a “moron.”
Tucker blows the lid off of dishonest coverage of ICE’s ‘innocent’ mom arrest. Here’s the truth.
“If you call your boss a moron, you probably should not be in that position,” Ingraham said on Tuesday’s “The Angle.”
Tillerson’s recent criticism of Russia may have been more at the forefront of Pelosi’s memory, comfortably lining up with Democrats’ rhetoric against Trump and his alleged collusion with the Kremlin. The diplomat was fired hours after he said the poisoning of an ex-Russian spy in Britain had “clearly” been ordered by Russia.
Tillerson says Russian spy poisoning clearly came from Russia will trigger a response: “This is a really egregious act. It appears that it clearly came from Russia. Whether it came from Russia with the Russian government’s knowledge is not known to me at this point”

Of course, this set off the narrative that Pelosi echoed.
It did. He was fired.

In total and complete coincidence…. Hours before being ousted as secretary of state, Rex Tillerson called the poisoning of an ex-Russian spy “a really egregious act” that appears to have “clearly” come from Russia. https://t.co/98L2IsU0hG

Monday – Rex Tillerson criticizes Russia for a “really egregious act” for which there should be “serious consequences”.
Tuesday – He’s fired by Donald Trump. ?#SpyGate #FromRussiaWithLove

Apparently, Pelosi’s current stand on Tillerson also provided an opportunity for fundraising.

Twitter users weighed in on the House Minority Leader’s amnesia.
1. He was a terrible appointment
2. The circumstances of his firing are very concerningWhat’s the problem?

This is like Democrats wanted Comey to be fired until he was fired.
Republicans need to become good at the Democrat “Ground Hog Day” approach to politics.

@realDonaldTrump @dbongino Democrats and the media have the same story no matter what the Trump Administration does. Their story is always negative and opposite. Then: Tillerson – hired because he is a Russian puppet. Now: Tillerson fired for being tough on Russia. #NancySenility

Does she even realize how ignorant she is

She’s been lying for so long, she has absolutely no grasp on reality. Sad.
