While many would probably not fault Sarah Sanders for having a bottle of whiskey in her office, the White House press secretary offered a praiseworthy explanation for its prominent display.
Sanders was asked about the bottle during a “Fox & Friends” segment on Wednesday following a tour of her office.
“We saw a bottle of whiskey, which you might need,” Fox host Ainsley Earhardt pointed out.
“I’d like to remind everybody that was a sealed bottle. It has not been opened,” Sanders said as co-host Brian Kilmeade joked that the clarification was needed in case her father, former Arkansas Governor Mike Huckabee, might be watching.
The White House confirmed to The Daily Caller’s Benny Johnson that Sanders displays the bottle of “Warrior Whiskey” in support of veterans.
“Since the president does not partake himself, it makes sense that the bottle would pass down to the person who next needs it most,” Johnson wrote.
Obama’s Attorney Gen. Eric Holder just released a statement on FISA memo, with one glaring problem
The Steamboat Whiskey Company was founded by a former U. S. Navy SEAL in October 2017 and has donated thousands of dollars to the Navy SEAL fund.
“Steamboat Whiskey Company Founder and Head Distiller Nathan Newhall is a former U. S. Navy SEAL. Nathan wanted to give back to veterans in a meaningful way so he developed Warrior Whiskey as a military tribute product,” the company’s website states. “A portion of the proceeds from the sale of Warrior Whiskey go directly to vetted U.S. veteran support organizations so they may continue the important work helping America’s fighting heroes. This quarter we are donating to the Navy Seal Fund.”
Over the holiday season, the 45th bottle of the Warrior Whiskey batch ended up in the hands of the 45th president, Donald Trump.
“Not sure what President Trump did with it because he doesn’t drink, but it was a little surreal in a way to see our whiskey pictured with him at the White House,” Jessica Newhall, wife of Nathan Newhall and co-owner of Steamboat Whiskey Company said, according to Steamboat Today.

One of Newhall’s swimming comrades from his Navy SEAL days was at the White House to gift Trump with the bottle.
“It was really serendipitous, especially with the Navy flag behind them,” Jessica Newhall said.
