If you’re a white Trump supporter in New York, fuggedaboutit!
A 32-year-old white woman was assaulted and robbed at a Bronx deli after teenage thugs accused her of being a Trump supporter. The bitter irony is, she’s not a Trump fan.
The victim’s roommate told the New York Daily News her friend is definitely not a Trump supporter. But that didn’t stop her attackers from throwing groceries at her, verbally attacking her, and then robbing her.
“You stupid white c–t!” they allegedly yelled at the victim inside the Musa Gourmet Deli in the Bronx. “You think you can live here in the Bronx, you Trump supporter? You white b–ch!”
The assault and robbery occurred at 3 a.m. on December 2, police said. The victim, whose name was not disclosed, was heading home after working a long shift at a Manhattan restaurant.
The deli manager, Zid Ali, said one of the suspects stole the woman’s bag while the other took her phone when she was trying to call the police. “They ran out, and she ran after them,” Ali told the NY Daily News.
The suspects are still on the loose, but the NYPD’s Hate Crime Task Force is investigating the incident. Police described the suspects as Hispanic teenagers around 16 or 17 years old. One is reportedly 5-foot-9 and 160 pounds, while the other is described as 5-foot-8 and 160 pounds.
This incident is the latest in a series of disturbing assaults against Trump supporters around the country. Except in this case, the victim is not a Trump supporter, and wasn’t even wearing a MAGA hat or anything else to suggest she’s a Trump fan. Merely being white may be enough to trigger some Trump haters, it seems.
Anyone with information on the Bronx deli attack should call Crime Stoppers at (800) 577-8477. All calls are confidential.
