After wave of sexual allegations, Democrat asks voters to choose candidate ‘who doesn’t have a penis’

This was, perhaps, inevitable.

A Democratic candidate for Congress seeking to capitalize on the wave of sexual harassment accusations that has struck the nation’s capitol, many of them credible, has released a campaign ad asking voters to make a simple consideration on election day.

Don’t vote for the candidate with a “penis.” This is the message of Dana Nessel, a candidate for attorney general in the state of Michigan.

She makes the argument based on a pattern of sexual abuse that has spread from the left coast of Hollywood all the way to the halls of government in Washington D.C.

As Mallory Shelbourne reported at The Hill, the candidate implored voters to consider the implications of the sexual harassment scandal.

“So when you’re choosing Michigan’s next attorney general, ask yourself this: ‘Who can you trust most not to show you their penis in a professional setting?’ ” she asks. “Is it the candidate who doesn’t have a penis? I’d say so.”

Nessel is running for a seat held by Trump-endorsed Republican attorney general Bill Schuette, who earlier this year announced his candidacy for Michigan governor.

If elected to higher office, Nessel makes voters a promise:

“I will not sexually harass my staff and I won’t tolerate it in your workplace, either. Won’t walk around in a half-open bathrobe.”

If we’re to believe the many accounts of retiring Michigan Rep. John Conyers, whose spokesperson recently said ‘so what?’ to news reports he used to walk around the office in his underwear, that might be an improvement.

“He changes clothes in his office. Most of us have walked in on him accidentally without knocking and have seen him in his underwear. Big deal!” Bob Weiner said of Conyers.

Unfortunately, Nessel’s views might not be as persuasive an argument for her suitability for the role of attorney general as her deft use of gender politics. Michigan is currently a Republican “triplex state.”
