Police are searching for an armed, wig-wearing man who robbed a Las Vegas casino in front of guests including James Woods.
The suspect, wearing glasses, a blonde wig and a partial covering on his face, pulled a gun on clerks in the cashier cage at the Bellagio Hotel and Casino Tuesday afternoon, the Las Vegas Sun reported.

Casino employees complied and handed over an undisclosed amount of cash to the man who fled in a silver Chevrolet Cruze he had parked using the valet service. Police revealed later that the car had been recovered.
Actor James Woods witnessed the drama unfold along with other Bellagio guests and tweeted about the experience moments later.

So we are playing poker at the @BellagioPoker and a guy walks up with a gun and robs the cage thirty feet from us ten minutes ago.

.@Bellagio staff were fantastic. They surrendered the money quietly, so no customers would get hurt. Nobody even realized it was happening. Excellent staff, cool under pressure.

The Las Vegas Metropolitan Police Department is on the hunt for the man whose image was captured by surveillance cameras.
So evidently the guy got away.

The @Bellagio security made a point of not engaging him after the actual robbery to guarantee the safety of their customers.

The white male had his face “partially masked or bandaged” and was “armed with a small-frame, black gun,” according to the Sun. Metro Captian John Pelletier is “comfortable and confident” that the suspect, believed to have acted alone, will be caught.

Thoughts on casinos employing armed guards? Bellagio was robbed again today with us all just sitting here. Cameras may deter a person from stealing, but a deranged maniac often could care less about being filmed.

Another person, who did not participate in the robbery but was brought to the casino apparently against their will, was cooperating with the police, according to Pelletier, the Sun reported.
The robber was taking an even more audacious chance, because the poker room is a smaller semi-contained area. https://t.co/SDjJXEzxWB

“Those who commit crimes like this on the Strip will be hunted down and whatever amount of cash he got is not enough to face a lifetime in prison,” Pelletier said.
The Bellagio was featured in the 2001 film “Ocean’s Eleven” which starred George Clooney, Brad Pitt and others pulling off a mega-million dollar heist at the casino.
Twitter users reacted to Woods’ tweets and the dramatic incident.

In true poker player fashion we all were focused on the hands we were playing and nobody actually realized it was happening. The gunman pointed his weapon at the cashier with his back to the room.

Glad you’re alright!!!
Surprised he made it out of casino. Not to long ago he would’ve been dropped where he stood.— ChristianaHuebschman (@ChrissyCarlson2) November 29, 2017
Glad you all are safe…I’ve been in that area, surreal that it happened like that!

Damn! I thought Casino’s had metal detectors to prevent people from brining in guns??

Did anyone tell him guns aren’t allowed in Casinos? I’m sure he just didn’t notice the NO GUNS sign. Honest mistake #2A

A hundred years ago everybody would have pulled out a colt .45 revolver. The robber would either soil himself and walk away or be turned into swiss cheese.
