A Halloween celebration turned ugly quick when a sixth grade class voted to make a Donald Trump the center of attention.
Not everyone was laughing when they learned an elementary school in Santa Clarita, Calif. displayed a goofy Trump “scarecrow” as part of a Halloween project — a stunt that was obviously approved by a teacher.
One parent of a young boy expressed his concern to local ABC 7.
“He just came home and said he saw a scarecrow of Donald Trump at his school and basically it’s just not the time or place for things like that to be put up,” he said. “And he’s pretty young, you know, seven years old in first grade,” the father said.
It must be a confusing experience for a young child to go to school and see their president depicted in such a way. And would this ever fly if it were former President Obama?
No way.
Pictures of the project were posted to social media and sparked a fury of opposition, while other parents from the school insisted that the scarecrow wasn’t a big deal, ABC 7 reported.

Saugus Union School District Superintendent Dr. Joan Lucid tried to temper the uproar with a statement vowing it would be an isolated incident.
“The Saugus Union School District strives to create a positive learning environment for all of our children. We were made aware of the event this weekend and will work to ensure that any similar instance will not occur in the future,” Lucid said.
“We regret the concern that this has caused and will implement safeguards to make certain that this will not happen again. Safety and excellence in education are our top priorities and we will continue to work to make our campuses accepting places for all perspectives. Thank you.”
Meanwhile, the debate over the appropriateness of the scarecrow continued to rage on social media:
We already know the indoctrination begins early in public school. Send ur kids to private. Sell a kidney if u have to. Ur kids will thank u

As funny as that is, totally inappropriate. Not a good lesson to teach our kids.
