U.S. Sen. Ted Cruz took to social media at Saturday evening’s hurricane relief charity concert event to note what is no longer a given — that everyone stood for the national anthem.
…other than wheelchair-bound former President George H.W. Bush.
With all five living ex-presidents in attendance, along with the former first ladies, the Texas Republican tweeted: “Everyone stood as one for national anthem at @TAMU with 5 ex-Presidents for hurricane relief. God bless! @AmericaAppeal#TexasStrong.”

Texas Gov. Gregg Abbott, also wheelchair-bound, is seen in front of Sen. Cruz in the photo above.
Former Presidents Barack Obama, George W. Bush, Bill Clinton, George H.W. Bush and Jimmy Carter were in attendance, along with President Donald Trump, who appeared via a taped video message.
The event, titled “Deep from the heart: The One American Appeal,” took place deep in the heart of Cruz’s home state at Texas A&M University.
There were no signs of the discontent seen weekly from NFL players who, taking the lead from radical former player Colin Kaepernick, refuse to stand during the national anthem.
The misguided millionaire players claim that they are protesting police brutality and oppression.
Cruz’s tweet proved to be real popular on social media, here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:

Very sad senator to have to point out when people do what they should, and what is a simple expectation. #TexasStrong
