Grandpa George gets credit for the most adorable photo of the week (with a little help).
On Wednesday evening, George W. Bush paid a visit to the home of his daughter Jenna Bush Hager and her husband Henry Hager, giving some special attention to their girls Poppy Louise, 2, and Margaret “Milla” Laura, 4.
In the first of the adorable photos shared to Bush Hager’s Instagram Stories, the former president is cuddling both his granddaughters — dressed in matching doughnut-patterned pajamas — on an armchair.
“Bedtime visitor,” the Today show correspondent, 35, wrote across the top of the sweet snap.
Hopefully, someone warned him not to choose Dr. Seuss books. They are terribly racists, in case you missed the memo:
Liz Phipps Soeiro, librarian at Cambridgeport Elementary School in Cambridge, Massachusetts, is coming under fire for penning a letter to Melania Trump in which she claims to be refusing the donation of books sent as part of the First Lady’s National Read a Book Day project.
“[M]y school doesn’t have a NEED for these books.” However, she immediately made clear that her issue with Mrs. Trump’s gift ran deeper than a concern for needy schools. Soiero was disappointed with the choice of Dr. Seuss.
“Another fact that many people are unaware of is that Dr. Seuss’s illustrations are steeped in racist propaganda, caricatures, and harmful stereotypes. Open one of his books (If I Ran a Zoo or And to Think That I Saw It On Mulberry Street, for example), and you’ll see the racist mockery in his art.”
