MSNBC host Nicolle Wallace ripped into House Speaker Paul Ryan for not standing up to President Trump.
Wallace seemed frustrated with Republicans like Ryan who cower instead of confronting the president and she blasted the Wisconsin lawmaker for not sticking up for himself after Trump’s deal with Democrats Wednesday to raise the debt limit ceiling and fund aid for victims of Hurricane Harvey.
The former White House communications director for President George W. Bush disagreed with a panelist on “Deadline: White House” Thursday when he said Ryan acted correctly following the president’s action.
“With his tail between his legs, walk out and admit he was totally humiliated by the president that he’s taken guff from for seven months?” she said.
But the MSNBC anchor was not done and, after noting that Ryan and Senate Majority Leader Mitch McConnell should “save their dignity” and refuse to work with Trump when they disagree with him, she took aim at Ryan’s more sensitive areas.
“Why can’t Paul Ryan be a man and say ‘He’s treated me like crap. He’s cyberbullied me. You know, I bit my tongue when he did things that were racist and misogynist but I’m done with that. I’m going to speak my mind,’ ” Wallace said.
Was that a rhetorical question?
