Rep. Trey Gowdy and budget chief Mick Mulvaney vied for the mic dropping moment in a war of words on Twitter.
The social media jousting began when the director of the Office of Business and Management threw some shade at the South Carolina Republican in a 60th birthday greeting. Gowdy actually turned 53 on Tuesday.
What do you get for someone on his 60th birthday? A razor and a comb.
Happy birthday, @TGowdySC. pic.twitter.com/ZNWaPHZl7c— Mick Mulvaney (@MickMulvaneyOMB) August 22, 2017

Mulvaney’s jab at his friend and former House colleague’s ever-changing hairstyles was quickly answered by Gowdy.
I’m just a couple of haircuts away from equaling the number of staff departures by your WH colleagues. I get it. You are hard to work with. https://t.co/sN0dg8ahrU

The House Oversight and Government Reform committee chairman was apparently referring to the recent White House staff exodus.
Mulvaney, who is also from South Carolina, was not about to let his friend have the last word, responding with another quick zinger.
If I could defund your haircuts, I would. https://t.co/3SnJM5aq6b

At last count, Gowdy appeared to be the last to drop the mic and walk away.
“Mick won’t even fund Meals on Wheels,” Gowdy told the Washington Examiner. “He surely isn’t going to pay for someone else’s haircut.”

Mulvaney better be careful to not to have to testify before Gowdy.
