When Huffington Post editor-in-chief Lydia Polgreen approved and even posted via her Twitter account a headline entitled “Goy, Bye!” in reference to former-White House chief strategist Steve Bannon’s ouster on Friday afternoon, surely she suspected at least a few raised eyebrows.

Was the headline, reportedly written by front-page editor Chloe Angyal, meant to somehow troll Bannon because of all the baseless ‘white nationalist’ accusations that have come from the Left about him, or was it something even more sinister, a reference to Bannon’s Jewish enemies inside the White House, Jared Kushner and Gary Cohn?
Since the word “goy” happens to be a derogatory slur for non-Jews, as opposed to the more technical term “gentile,” some people couldn’t help but wonder.
Daily Wire contributor Harry Khachatrian recalled a time when the Huffington Post was concerned about antisemitism:
I'm old enough to remember when HuffPost was super concerned with antisemitism in America, a day ago pic.twitter.com/0B29uemFUa

Then he posted this Twitter classic:

The Anti-Defamation League, not often one to find offense from the Left, took issue with the headline, with ADL chief Jonathan Greenblatt tweeting, “Not sure your intent, but strikes me as poor taste at best, very offensive at worst.”
The headline even had Keith Olbermann asking “WTF?”

Polgreen doubled down, at first.

But then, the Huffington Post editor backed off.

So then, she changed it to this!
HuffPost-dot-com's updated homepage: "White Flight".
This is related to Bannon's resignation… how? pic.twitter.com/8ylfo85Qv5— Harry Khachatrian (@Harry1T6) August 18, 2017
Which, naturally, drew even more criticism, albeit from a different place.
Racial tensions in America soaring. Riots, assaults, deaths.
Huffington Post chooses to make Bannon's exit about race.
Let that sink in. pic.twitter.com/Jc7lmXckR4

I would say @HuffPost's new Bannon headline ("White Flight") in exactly the same bad taste as the one it replaces ("Goy, Bye").
