As O.J. Simpson awaited a decision on his parole Thursday, his attorney was overheard joking about President Trump.
Malcolm LaVergne’s comments were picked up on a hot mic as he spoke to Simpson during a break at the Lovelock Correctional Facility, the Washington Examiner reported.

“There is an ice cream story. I wasn’t able to read all of it, but there’s some kind of ice cream story he’s thrown in now,” he was heard saying off-camera. “Kind of like President Trump, you know? Trump gets two scoops; everyone else gets one. Something like that. Something ridiculous.”
LaVergne may have been referring to former correctional officer Jeffrey Felix, author of “Guarding the Juice: How O.J. Simpson Became My Prison BFF.” The conversation appeared to be about Felix and the claims he made about Simpson while he served as a Nevada state correctional officer at Lovelock.
Simpson called him “shameless” during the conversation, stating that he was never even assigned to his area of the prison.
LaVergne seemed to be comparing it to one of many inane CNN “scoops,” where the network took time and airspace to slam the President’s love of the sweet stuff.
“Ridiculous” indeed.
Greta Van Susteren just couldn’t contain herself when she saw this ‘tasteless’ tweet from CNN
The Nevada parole board voted unanimously on Thursday to shorten Simpson’s sentence of 33-years for kidnapping and armed robbery. He could see a release from prison as early as Oct. 1.
