Steve Carell’s ‘silver fox’ look has turned him into an overnight heartthrob

It what seems like an overnight transformation, actor Steve Carell’s gray hair and dapper new look caught fans by surprise and set off the internet.

Promoting his new film, “Despicable Me 3” at BBC Studios in London, the 54 year-old was spotted with the new “silver fox” hair and a fashion ensemble that turned many heads.

“Nothing compliments a mature man’s grooming game like well-fitting menswear, a baller watch, a pair of luxe leather sneakers, and some classic (prescription) shades,” GQ’s Liza Corsillo wrote.

Best known for playing Michael Scott on “The Office,” Carell has also starred in “Anchorman,” “Evan Almighty,” “Get Smart,” and “Date Night.” The father of two has also been the voice behind Gru in the “Despicable Me” films.

Carell’s London appearance last week set off an internet explosion as reactions poured in on his new look.

Carell admitted he was  “busting with pride” over the attention when asked about his new sexy status by Entertainment Tonight.

“I am so sick of people just looking at me for my physical attributes,” he joked with ET’s Carly Steel.  “It’s just genetic. There’s nothing I can do.”

“I’m bursting with pride. That’s very nice,” Carell added.

Carell was also asked about his wife’s reaction to his newfound Hollywood heartthrob status.

“You know, I think she’s hot, and that’s all that matters,” he replied.

Carell appeared on “The Tonight Show” Tuesday where host Jimmy Fallon joked with the star about his sex appeal.

“You’re a funny human being, but I wanna say that you’re also a stud, you’re a stud muffin,” Fallon said.

And it looks like the internet completely agreed.
