President Donald Trump was back on Twitter early Monday and if critics haven’t liked his past efforts, they’re really not going to like today’s offering.
Targeting his predecessor, Trump blew past the narrative reported by The Washington Post that former President Barack Obama “choked” in taking no action against Russia for allegedly interfering in the November election to insist Obama had done far worse.
Saying Obama expected Hillary Clinton to defeat him, Trump charged that the former president “colluded or obstructed” in the Russian meddling.
Not only did Trump say Obama did “NOTHING after being informed in August about Russian meddling,” the president said that after four months of investigating, “they have zero ‘tapes’ of [Trump] people colluding.”
What’s more, Trump wants an apology.
“There is no collusion & no obstruction. I should be given apology!” he concluded.
The tweets are consistent with a theme Trump voiced Sunday during an interview with “Fox & Friends Weekend,” according to The Hill.
“Well I just heard today for the first time that Obama knew about Russia a long time before the election, and he did nothing about it,” Trump said. “But nobody wants to talk about that.”
“The CIA gave him information on Russia a long time before they even — before the election,” he continued. “And I hardly see it. It’s an amazing thing.”
