Newt Gingrich hits back at ‘prostitute’ Joe Scarborough for pay-to-play smear

Newt Gingrich fired back Saturday night at MSNBC’s Joe Scarborough for calling him out for his “grotesque” smearing of special counsel Robert Mueller, effectively calling the “Morning Joe” host a “prostitute.”

Scarborough was reacting to Gingrich’s insistence last week that Mueller was biased in his investigation of collusion between President Donald Trump and Russia, and the former speaker got a chance to respond during an appearance on Fox News’ “Justice with Judge Jeanine.”

Host Jeanine Pirro set her guest up nicely when she noted that Scarborough made reference to Gingrich’s wife, Callista Gingrich, being nominated as U.S. ambassador to the Vatican while questioning Gingrich’s reasons for critiquing Mueller, asking: “What exactly is the price of an ambassadorship these days?”

Gingrich did not let the lob go to waste.

“Well, now we know the degree to which Joe is a prostitute that apparently he would do that. I wouldn’t,” he said, before clarifying his motivations.

“My record of being for Trump is clear,” Gingrich continued. “I’m deeply committed to his presidency because I think we need to shake up Washington.”

…coming from a man who knows a thing or two about shaking the town up.
