According to Harvard Law professor Laurence Tribe, perjury is in the eye of the beholder.
…or would that be the recipient?
Appearing on CNN, Tribe was asked about President Donald Trump perjuring himself if he testified under oath on his conversations with fired FBI director James Comey, as the president said he is willing to do.
In posing the question, CNN’s Fareed Zakaria referenced President Bill Clinton, who was charged with perjury during the Monica Lewinsky scandal.
Tribe responded with a crude remark about oral sex that the network saw no need to bleep.
“Perjury about a blowjob is not nearly as serious as perjury about a Russian attack on our democracy,” he said.

As to the legitimacy of Tribe’s take on the matter, it seems his potential for being crude is only matched by his disdain for the president.
Not only has he already called for the impeachment of Trump, a quick glance at his Twitter feed revealed this gem about Comey’s testimony last week before the Senate intelligence committee.
