Trump gives no-holds-barred take on media, calls one MSM host ‘perhaps, dumbest person in broadcasting’

President Donald Trump has been relentless in his criticism of much of the media and millions of Americans support the president’s stance.

…while the left continues to cry foul.

In what was described as an “on the record” dinner Monday night, Trump offered a no-holds-barred take on a few of his staunchest media critics that’s sure to have mouths dropping to floors across the country.

The president’s dinner quests were TIME reporter Zeke Miller, editor Nancy Gibbs and D.C. bureau chief Michael Scherer, according to TVNewser … meaning there was zero chance that Trump did not expect his remarks to be disseminated.

CNN took the brunt of Trump’s ire, not that he spared MSNBC.

“CNN in the morning, Chris Cuomo, he’s sitting there like a chained lunatic,” Trump reportedly said. “He’s like a boiler ready to explode, the level of hatred.”

And the president was just getting warmed up.

“The entire CNN platform is that way,” he continued. “This Don Lemon, who’s perhaps the dumbest person in broadcasting — Don Lemon at night, it’s like sometimes they’ll have a guest who by mistake will say something good.”

“And poor Jeffrey Lord. I love Jeffrey Lord,” Trump said of the CNN commentator. “But sometimes he’s sitting there with eight unknown killers that nobody ever heard of.”

When contacted, a network spokesperson told TIME: “His comments are beneath the dignity of the office of the President.”

This would be the same CNN that just touted Anderson Cooper’s childish “eyeroll” while interviewing Kellyanne Cooper.

The president said he does not watch CNN or MSNBC, which he called “ridiculous.”

Naming “Morning Joe” co-host Joe Scarborough, Trump said he “went the other way.”

“He’s got some problems,” Trump said. “But I don’t watch the show anymore. It drives him crazy. I don’t watch the show.”

Ah, love is in the air…
