What brings more backlash than a Brit who scolds Americans on free speech? Nothing, as one mate finds out

**Warning: Foul language ahead.

Things did not go so well for a British writer who decided to have a fit about free speech on Twitter.

In a tweet featuring an over-abundance of clapping hands, Mike Williams issued an all-caps reminder that “hate speech” does not enjoy First Amendment protection.

He even threw in something about “Nazi opinions” for good measure.

Besides inspiring clapping responses, Williams set himself up to be schooled on what constitutes free speech in America.

He dismissed many tweets with snide comments but ultimately, Twitter users seemed to take over the discussion.

Hopefully Williams took notes and learned a thing a two from Americans who know a thing or two about the First Amendment.
