Either Hillary Clinton has a selective memory or she is hoping Americans do.
The former Democratic presidential nominee gave herself a pat on the back for being part of the so-calle “free” college tuition effort, effectively taking credit for the work of Sen. Bernie Sanders.
Clinton responded to a tweet by New York Gov. Andrew Cuomo about free college tuition in his state.
College is not a luxury, it’s a necessity.
That’s why I’m proud to have signed tuition-free college for middle class families into law. pic.twitter.com/VlObSyKni4

We set out to do this nationally, but thrilled that New York is getting it done. Let’s hope it’s the first of many. Text College to 81336. https://t.co/XTmjMm2g2u

Wait, what did she mean by “we”?
@HillaryClinton You did nothing to make this happen. Quit taking credit for others’ work & go away. Again.

Riding the coattails of others seems effortless to the former secretary of state but she was not fooling anyone this time.
@HillaryClinton You campaigned against that. I guess you haven’t learned your lesson that was Bernie idea. Still lying Clinton

@HillaryClinton Whats this we? As investors in for profit colleges, this wasnt on the radar until it was made popular by another candidate

“I disagree with free college for everybody,” Clinton had said in the not-so-distant past.

@HillaryClinton I remember when you and your surrogates referred to this kind of policy as fairy dust and unicorns.

If Clinton had any memory issues on the topic, Twitter users were happy to set her straight.
