ABC News correspondent Paula Faris ripped Joy Behar a new one Friday on ABC’s “The View” while discussing President Donald Trump’s airstrike on Syria.
Co-host Jedediah Bila praised Trump’s action before making a comparison to former President Barack Obama’s empty “Red Line” threat in 2013, prompting Behar to come to Obama’s defense by saying he went to Congress to “get permission.”
“If he had not gone to Congress, President Obama, they would have impeached him,” Behar insisted. “They would have impeached him. They were out to get him.”
The ladies discussed whether Trump had the authority to order the airstrikes and Russia’s role in the whole affair before Faris made an impassioned plea on behalf of the children killed in last week’s chemical attack.
“But if you can’t allow yourself to be effected by looking at those pictures and the videos of those children not being able to breathe and the children dying, you have to question your humanity,” she said. “You have to question your humanity.”
“Please, this is not personal… about questioning anybody’s humanity,” Behar interjected.
“No, you have to,” Faris responded. “How can you not question somebody’s humanity?”
“These are military operations we’re talking about here,” Behar countered.
“We are talking about dead children,” Faris fired back. “Dead children!”
The bleeding heart liberal dismissed dead children with a throw of her hands, saying “there are many atrocities that have gone on in the 20th century, please.”
