Why featured entertainers for the inauguration are being kept under wraps

Several performers who have been booked for Donald Trump’s inaugural celebration are being kept under wraps for fear of backlash from their fans.

Trump’s inauguration committee is keeping the names of multiple performers for two inaugural balls secret to avoid having them back out under criticism, TMZ reported.

The unnamed artists are reportedly set to perform at the Freedom Ball and the Liberty Ball, two separate events scheduled to be held at the D.C. Walter E. Washington Convention Center. The committee has decided not to release the performers’ names to avoid the repeating scenario of having them accept the invitation, then get cold feet when attacked by angry liberals.

While stars like Toby Keith and Lee Greenwood have been proud to accept invitations to perform, others like Jennifer Holliday and opera singer Andrea Bocelli, have dropped out because of blowback from fans and even reported death threats.

Paul Anka, who was scheduled to perform a special rendition of his hit “My Way,” had to back out due to an ongoing child custody trial, according to TMZ.
