Chicago torture victim gets showered with love . . . and really big GoFundMe numbers

A GoFundMe page has been set up for the white Chicago man brutally tortured by four black suspects and has topped $125,000.

The online crowdfunding campaign, titled “Let’s Show the Chicago Victim Love,” asks contributors to prove “there is far more good in this world than the evil he recently endured.”

The effort is drawing plenty of sympathy… in a city that saw 4,368 shooting victims in 2016, to include 762 fatalities.

While the out-of-control gun violence does not minimize the horrific trauma inflicted on the mentally challenged man by four young black people acting on racial hatred, it does leave one to wonder where is this sympathy when hundreds are being shot dead in the streets of Chicago every year.

“For those of you that have seen the horrific torture and trauma recently inflicted on a young man in Chicago, it is not something you will soon forget,” the GoFundMe page begins.

“The perpetrators have been apprehended and hopefully swift justice will be served,” the page continues. “But let’s take an opportunity now to show this young man and his family some financial support during this difficult time of recovery and let him know there are many out there that are here for him.

ABC News reported that GoFundMe authenticated the page and confirmed the victim’s family is working with the company on the campaign.
