Donald Trump closed out 2016 the same way he charged through it: His way.
The president-elect ditched his press pool to play a final round of golf at the Trump National Golf Club in Jupiter, Florida, about 30 minutes from his Mar-a-Lago estate. An aide told the AP Trump had made a “last-minute trip” to play golf, and was accompanied by 25 Secret Service agents.
While the press weren’t able to publish any photos, club members were happy to post snapshots of their Trump sightings on Twitter.

Others posted photos from Trump’s swanky New Year’s Eve party inside the ballroom at Mar-a-Lago, where incoming First Lady Melania Trump stunned in an elegant black cocktail dress.

This wasn’t the first time Trump ditched the press. In November, mainstream media threw a hissy fit after Trump enjoyed a private family dinner a few blocks from the Trump Tower without alerting them.
While the media criticized Trump for not being transparent, perhaps they were just upset at not being included in secret dinners like they were with Hillary Clinton.
Since then, the brash billionaire has triggered the mainstream media further by suggesting he may replace formal White House press conferences with Twitter chats and Facebook town halls.
Fittingly, Trump’s first message of 2017 — delivered on Twitter at midnight — was a heartfelt wish for a happy and blessed new year to all Americans.
