‘Grey’s Anatomy’ star Ellen Pompeo in a ‘3-hour’ race fight on Twitter because she used black emojis

It seems almost anything can set off a social media meltdown in PC America.

And you really can’t make up the things people find offensive, like Ellen Pompeo’s Twitter post on Friday in which the actress had the audacity to use the wrong colored emoji.

The star of “Grey’s Anatomy” tweeted a response to a news story about the A&E network changing the name of its “Generation KKK” show. Pompeo added two “black emojis” to her tweet and instantly triggered someone.

With her account now protected, @sarahsdrew fired off a tweet calling the actress out for her “inappropriate” use of emojis.

“Don’t be a hater,” Pompeo responded with another tweet.

Of course, that fell on deaf ears and unleashed more hatred, which the 47-year-old actress quickly addressed.

Still not satisfied, the offended Twitter users continued to berate Pompeo who responded to many comments throughout the debate on Friday.

Some Twitter users did point out the absurdity of arguing for hours over the color of emojis and Pompeo eventually offered an apology to anyone who may have been offended.
