The absurdity of the 2016 presidential election culminated Monday with the man who was awarded the “Lie of the Year” just a few short years ago asking voters to “trust me.”
President Barack Obama, who once told Americans, “If you like your health care plan, you can keep it,” was on the stump Monday for Hillary Clinton and said he’s “absolutely confident” the country will be in good hands with the Democratic nominee.
“I’m asking you to trust me on this one,” Obama said, according to CBS News White House correspondent Mark Knoller:

Moments after Knoller’s tweet, the internet broke… just kidding, but the reaction by social media users showed the moment proved to be the “laugh of the day.”
