Lou Dobbs sets off Twitter storm for calling Utah’s Evan McMullin a ‘Mormon mafia tool’

Rising poll numbers in Utah for presidential candidate Evan McMullin prompted a recent tweet by Fox Business host Lou Dobbs which set off a Twitter storm of reaction.

The strong showing in the state by the third-party conservative could tip the state to Hillary Clinton’s favor as he pulls votes away from GOP nominee Donald Trump. McMullin could also win the state’s six electoral votes himself, which Dobbs blamed on a  “Mormon Mafia” in a tweet over the weekend.

Dobbs accused McMullin of being a globalist as well as a Mitt Romney and Mormon “Mafia tool,” re-tweeting an article about the candidate.

The article contained a video where McMullin admits he’s not in it, to win it.

Still, Republican strategist and advisor to the McMullin campaign, Rick Wilson, fired back a response.

Dobbs’ tweet took on a life of its own and led to a new hashtag being born: #MormonMafia. Following is a sampling of some of the best on Twitter.
