Denial ain’t a river in Eqypt.
With ratings in a significant decline this fall, the National Football League is telling team owners that there’s nothing to see here.
Amid growing dissatisfaction from Americans to the continued displays of disrespect among some NFL players during pregame ceremonies, where ill-informed millionaires refuse to stand during the national anthem, Fox News reported NFL viewership has declined 11 percent through the first four weeks of the season, with an even greater drop of 12 percent among the crucial adults 18-49 demographic.
The players antics have led to a national boycott of the league by some.
But NFL senior executives Brian Rolapp and Howard Katz sent a letter to team owners saying the league is “unconcerned” about the drop and deny it has anything to do with the protests, stating “our own data shows that the perception of the NFL and its players is actually up in 2016.”
“While our partners, like us, would have liked to see higher ratings, they remain confident in the NFL and unconcerned about a long-term issue,” the letter said, according to Fox News. The suit and ties, confident in their product, pointed to the growth seen over the last 15 years to alleviate potential concern.
Outspoken conservative actor James Woods nailed it when he posted on Twitter: “Such a joy to watch these tone-deaf America haters try to figure out why they are loathed.”

But Woods wasn’t content with just one post, using his substantial social media platform to draw more eyes to the ongoing NFL boycott and to mock league #Numbskulls:

That Woods had plenty of support is not so surprising, given his vast following on social media, but the ferocity of much of that support does stand out.
Here’s a sampling of responses from Twitter:
@RealJamesWoods @NFL brave men & women paid with their lives so that ungrateful, insufferable brats can grow rich playing an infantile game.
