A Republican congressman offered 49ers second-tier quarterback Colin Kaepernick some much-needed perspective.
Soon after police engaged in a shootout and eventually apprehended New York bomber and terrorist, Ahmad Khan, Rep. Lee Zeldin took to Twitter and took a swipe at Kaepernick.
Suspect in custody. You are welcome Colin Kaepernick.

This wasn’t the first time the New York lawmaker went after Kaepernick for his refusal to stand for America’s national anthem. In August, Zeldin also offered the defiant ball player some perspective.
#Kaepernick should think about the service members risking their lives to protect his freedom to be both rich and unpatriotic in NFL #USA

It obviously hasn’t gotten through to Kaepernick but at least, Zeldin seems eternally grateful, because it turns out, he would know about sacrifice. Zeldin served as an Army Paratrooper in the 82nd Airborne and still serves as a Major in the Reserves.
Our law enforcement and first responders have been absolutely amazing taking care of business since Saturday’s bombings. TY!!
