Eric Trump reveals possible new nickname for dad — but it’ll be a hard sell for some

Donald Trump’s middle son Eric praised his father Friday for humbling himself by admitting he “regrets” some of his remarks made throughout the presidential campaign. —

Fox News “America’s Newsroom” host Bill Hemmer played a short clip of Trump’s statement before asking Eric Trump to comment.

“Sometimes, in the heat of debate and speaking on a multitude of issues, you don’t choose the right words or you say the wrong thing,” GOP nominee Donald Trump told supporters Thursday night in Charlotte, North Carolina. “I have done that. And believe it or not, I regret it. And I do regret it, particularly where it may have caused personal pain.”

Eric Trump told Hemmer that is the father he knows — “humble Trump.

“I think he’ll admit that he’s strayed, and goes out there and he gets passionate, and he’s not reading off of a teleprompter 99 percent of the time like all these other politicians are,” Eric Trump said. “He has strayed, and he admitted it last night, and I think that was great.

“It was cool that he turned it back. It was neat that he did that.”

“You said you like the humble Trump?” Hemmer asked.

“That’s the father I know, and he’s an amazing man, and he’s got a heart of gold,” Eric Trump said. “I’ve seen that my whole life, and that’s what you saw last night. And I think people are going to see a lot more of that.”
