In a display of pure liberal madness, Secretary of State John Kerry said Friday that air conditioners and refrigerators are as big of a threat to life as Islamic State terrorists.
And he was serious.
Kerry was speaking at the Montreal Protocol High-level Segment in Vienna, Austria, and suggested that an increased use of hydrofluorocarbons (HFCs) has led to a trend of global climate change, according to Fox News.
“Yesterday, I met in Washington with 45 nations – defense ministers and foreign ministers – as we were working together on the challenge of Daesh, ISIL, and terrorism,” Kerry said. “It’s hard for some people to grasp it, but what we – you – are doing here right now is of equal importance because it has the ability to literally save life on the planet itself.”
Assuming, of course, you survive the next Islamic terrorist attack.
“The use of hydrofluorocarbons is unfortunately growing,” the secretary of state said. “Already, the HFCs use in refrigerators, air conditioners, and other items are emitting an entire gigaton of carbon dioxide-equivalent pollution into the atmosphere annually. Now, if that sounds like a lot, my friends, it’s because it is. It’s the equivalent to emissions from nearly 300 coal-fired power plants every single year.”
HFCs that replaced “ozone-depleting substances” banned by the Montreal Protocol.
But Kerry praised the members, saying “the hole in the ozone is shrinking,” adding that “we created jobs …[and] were able to improve the quality of life for our citizens.”
