With polls showing the race for the White House tightening between Hillary Clinton and Donald Trump, it appears some Democrats are reaching for the panic button.
The Democratic Governors Association sent out an email imploring supporters to join the fight to turn out voters in November, the Washington Examiner reported.
“We’re PANICKED, friends,” said the email.
The message points to polls showing Trump closing on Clinton in several key swing states, saying the Republican nominee is “within single digits” — the Examiner noted that the RealClearPolitics average has Clinton up by a mere 2.8 points.
Democrats are just a few days away from their national convention, which is certain to provide at least a temporary bump in the polls, but perhaps they have good reason to be “panicked.”

Nate Silver just confirmed that Donald Trump could be our next president – and polls show him within single digits in key swing states (Pennsylvania, Ohio, Florida). Meanwhile, 92,038 people still haven’t activated their DGA memberships to help increase Democratic turnout across the country.
This is NOT good. If we lose these swing states, Donald Trump becomes president and Republicans will defund Planned Parenthood, slash Social Security and deport millions of families. We can only win if we know NOW that top Dems like you are committed to fighting.
