Some Bernie Sanders delegates have found themselves in an ironic position.
Shocked to find out they cannot afford to attend the Democratic National Convention, some of Sanders’ 1,831 New York delegates have turned to crowdfunding sites to raise the funds, the New York Post reported.
“The cost definitely was a surprise,” said Jessica Frisco, 23, a delegate from the Upper West Side. “People are freaking out.”
At least 20 New York delegates for Sanders have set up online funding in hopes of raising up to $5,000 for travel expenses to the Convention in Philadelphia this month, according to the Post.

Bernie people who volunteered as delegates didn’t realize attending the DNC convention would cost money. They literally think life is free.
