Imagine being told that your food choices have environmental and physical effects that can damage the planet and humanity.

Then imagine being told the solution is to be a meat eater.

A new video titled “If Meat Eaters Acted Like Vegans” lampoons the behavior of those who shun the use of animal products.

“Broccoli? That’s what my food eats,” creator JP Sears says as the carnivorous protagonist in the video that has been viewed over 2.5 million times. “That’s my food’s food and I don’t appreciate you eating that.”

The video is part of the YouTube series, “Ultra Spiritual Life,” which attempts to expose the inconsistency of behaving spiritually in an attempt to get attention for being spiritual. Focused on the vegan diet and lifestyle, the video presents the meat eating Sears as he “redundantly repeated his emotionally charged nutritional opinions.”

Vegetarian diets can take different forms like lacto-ovo vegetarians who eat dairy products and eggs, lacto vegetarians who eat dairy, but avoid eggs and vegans who avoid eating or using animal products entirely. The vegans stereotyped in this video may be criticized for giving other vegans and vegetarians, who choose the alternative diets for different reasons, a bad rap.

While the series creator offers up his dose of satire aimed at the grandstanding by many New Age driven lifestyles, he is actually a full time life coach and focuses on emotional healing. His Twitter account says he seeks to “help people help themselves to live more meaningful lives.”

“Orcas are even more spiritually evolved than humans,” Sears shares with mock serenity in the video. “and they only eat seal meat, so that means humans should only eat meat, because it’s the most spiritually evolved diet.”

Social media users hailed the video as a brilliant bit of comedy, and many of them were vegans.

One comment called the video “overly dramatic” and added “All of the other vegans I have ever met were very considerate, compassionate, and down to earth.”

One proudly shared, “I’m a vegan, and I found this hilarious.”

Another comment said everyone should be free to eat what they wish without forcing their views on others, noting that the “vocal portion” of this camp and other groups in general make “the entire group look terrible.”
