With no updates in almost two weeks after learning that Fox News’ Andrea Tantaros would be absent from the network for a while, an anxious fan has taken matters into their own hands.
A petition was launched Sunday on iPetition calling on Fox News to bring Tantaros back.
Titled “Bring Back Andrea Tantaros,” the petition reads: “I don’t know why Andrea Tantaros isn’t on Fox News any longer, but Fox is making a mistake by letting her go. Bring Andrea back!!”
And that’s just it, there hasn’t been much word on just what prompted her absence. In a statement, the network attributed it to an issue with the political commentator’s contract.
“Issues have arisen regarding Andrea’s contract, and Fox News Channel has determined it best that she take some time off. She is still under contract with the network,” the statement said.
The petition has garnered just 739 signatures thus far, but those who have signed are passionate in their support for Tantaros.
“One of the best and brightest. Whatever the reasons, get her back!” one signer commented.
“I can’t believe one of the most informed people was let go. I always looked forward to her opinions,” said another.
With the release of her book, “Tied Up in Knots,” Tantaros managed to stay in the news cycle with a story of her calling rival Mika Brzezinski “the nastiest woman on the Upper East Side” after the “Morning Joe” co-host reportedly pretended not to recognize her at a charity function.
