Following Donald Trump‘s Indiana victory on Tuesday, the presumptive Republican nominee had a special message for Mexico’s former president.
“Yeah, get your money ready ’cause you’re going to pay for the wall,” he said on Fox News’ “The O’Reilly Factor” on Wednesday.
Mexican President Vicente Fox, scheduled to be on the show later on, had apparently changed his tone since Trump’s win, apologizing for his previous attacks.
Although Fox had previously said “I’m not going to pay for that f***ing wall,” Trump said he was not about to back down.
“Look, we lose a fortune with Mexico. Trade deficit: $58 billion a year. The wall’s gonna cost 10,” said Trump. “Believe me, they’ll be able to afford it and we’re going to end up having a very good relationship with Mexico. But right now, sadly, like everybody else, they’re taking advantage of our country on trade and at the border. So, we’ll get it straightened out.”
