If only Disney’s corporate policies matched the magical experiences of visitors . . .

A Disney World experience was so touching to a grieving woman that she wrote to one of the characters to express her gratitude.

In an open letter to “the Fairy Godmother I didn’t know I needed,” Janice Murphy thanked the character actress for showing her love and compassion, never realizing how much it meant. Murphy and her husband met the Fairy Godmother while holding a teddy bear that contained the ashes of their newborn baby who had died earlier this year, the Orlando Sentinel reported.

“I was smiling but you didn’t know I spent 10 minutes in tears over the things my daughter will never experience,” the 25-year-old wrote in her letter on Facebook. “You had no idea what that purple teddy bear represents to me.”

Murphy’s daughter Analiese was born on Feb. 11 at 37 weeks but died 85 minutes later from heart and brain defects, according to the Sentinel.

Murphy thanked the Disney actress for her compassion and kindness when she told her about the bear and her daughter.  The “Cinderella” character “hugged and loved on my daughter as if she was like any other child,” Murphy said in the letter. “When you hugged her, and kissed her cheek, you made me feel like Analiese mattered to you.”

The Facebook letter has been shared over 30,000 times since it was posted last week and has even been seen by the Fairy Godmother, according to Murphy’s blog, the Sentinel reported.

“You may not remember us,” the post concluded. “But I will always remember you, and how you hugged and loved on my daughter as if she was like any other child.”

To the Fairy Godmother I didn’t know I needed, You had no idea the young woman that was holding a purple teddy bear…
