‘Screw the DOJ’: Author Brad Thor says stop the witch hunt now!

If you weren’t already a fan of conservative best-selling author Brad Thor, you will be after you watch him passionately defend George Zimmerman, the not guilty verdict and the Second Amendment.

Thor appeared on Chicago’s “Windy City Live” to promote his new political thriller, “Hidden Order” (which is excellent, by the way), but the conversation began with questions over his recent tweets where he offered to buy Zimmerman a new gun after the Department of Justice placed a hold on evidence from the trial pending its investigation.

He extended his offer of a new gun and ammo to Zimmerman’s brother Robert:

And he may present Zimmerman a new gun very publicly.

Referring to the DOJ’s civil rights investigation of Zimmerman in the interview, Thor said:

At what point do we let an American citizen get done with the justice process? I mean this is a big deal, this could happen to anybody. If the government can keep hounding you, this guy’s life is ruined at this point. I know we have a dead child here but he was found not guilty by a jury of his peers. Trayvon Martin wasn’t on trial, George Zimmerman was, and he’s not guilty.

There’s not a shred of evidence that he is a racist and yet the Department of Justice is freezing everything.

When skeptical co-host Val Warner questioned the wisdom of giving Zimmerman another gun, Thor patiently explained:

That’s his decision, Val, it’s not for us to decide if we’re going to curtail his liberty or not, that is his Second Amendment right to possess a firearm, defend himself, defend his family, and it is not up to you, it’s not up to me, to decide what’s right for George Zimmerman. He’s an American citizen, he gets to decide what’s right for him.
