Florida man calls 911 to report restaurant’s clam size too small. When the cops showed up, he got a surprise

Some folks don’t know how to pick their battles.

With all that’s going on in the world, one Florida man decided his big beef would be with a restaurant’s tiny molluscs.

Upset over being served clams he claimed were too small Nelson Agosto, 51, not only called 911 once, he called the emergency line twice from Crabby’s Seafood Shack in Stuart, Fla.

“I ordered something, and it was extremely so small,” Agosto complained.

An unbelievably patient dispatcher can be heard telling Agosto to call the non-emergency line, but when Agosto said he tried and couldn’t get through, he called back.

“I tried that, but I couldn’t get through,” he said in the second call.

That was enough to get law enforcement’s attention, but probably not the kind Agosto had hoped for.

Agosto was arrested on Dec 18 on a misdemeanor charge of misuse of 911, King 5 reported.

According to the incident report, the restaurant claimed Agosto was warned about the size of the clams before his order was served, and even offered him another plate on the house. Judging from his “emergency” calls, that wasn’t good enough for Agosto.

“He was complaining that the clams he was eating were so small he didn’t want to pay for them,” Sgt. Brian Bossio, police spokesman, told King 5 news.

Agosto didn’t go to jail, but was arrested and will have to appear in court on Jan. 11.

He’d better hope his judge is in a good mood.
