A married Chicago couple are being forced to shut down their music store due to nonstop harassment by “tolerant” liberals.
Suzzanne Monk and Alexander Duvel, who own “Worlds of Music Chicago,” will be shuttering their store indefinitely in April after being the target of a vicious campaign of bullying and threats stemming from their support of President Trump.
The harassment started after Monk and Duvel tried to attend a Trump rally in Chicago in March 2016. That rally was abruptly canceled due to mass rioting. So even though Monk and Duvel technically didn’t go to the rally because it got canceled, the damage was done.
“I attended the rally at the UIC Pavilion that got shut down, and while my husband was discussing that online, we actually drew some attention from the left,” Monk told Fox News. “And they outed us as Trump supporters.”
Monk continued: “Since that point, we have been receiving online threats, ratings wars, called every name in the book online, YouTube harassment. Recently, what we’ve found is that they’re actually even talking to other musicians and threatening people who would do business with us. So, it’s kind of a tragic situation.”
Since being publicly outed as Trump supporters, Monk and Duvel have experienced a steep drop in business. Even longtime colleagues abandoned them.
“[It was] like I was just become more of a liability to them, because they couldn’t associate or recommend my shop simply because of their peer group being so seriously anti-Trump,” Duvel said.
Monk and Duvel, who sank their life savings’ into their business, said even people they thought were their friends turned their backs on them.
“It is surprising to see people that Alex has performed music with, people that I’ve had in my home, turn around and decide we’re white supremacists, we’re xenophobes — not out of any evidence,” said Monk. “The only evidence they have is that we voted for Donald Trump.”
